Celebrate the end of the workday with a free happy hour at James White’s Fort on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be summer cocktails like Daiquiris, mint juleps, mojitos, and more.

The Edgewood Park neighborhood is hosting its last summer concert of the season on Thursday. The free performance begins at 6:30 p.m. at Edgewood Park in North Knoxville.

There are only a few more chances left to catch a Smokies baseball game this season. They’re playing the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Thursday through Saturday. During Saturday’s game, there’s a chance to win a vacation to Orlando, Florida.

Watch a movie under the stars at Ijams Nature Center. The movie, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ is playing at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character. Tickets are $8 per person or $25 for a family of four.

Actors and actresses at Knoxville Children’s Theatre are putting on the tights for ‘The Ballad of Robin Hood.” The adventure play runs August 16 through September 1. Tickets start at $10.

Lenoir City Park is hosting a free movie night on Friday. They’re showing ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ when the sunsets. Don’t forget to pack some movie snacks and a lawn chair.

Dog Daze II is a three-day festival dedicated to all things ‘dogs.’ There will be Dock Dogs competitions, food, and shopping at the Village Green shopping center in Farragut. The event runs from Friday to Sunday at 5 p.m.

The Tennessee Theatre is showing classic movies this summer. On Friday, put your dancing shoes on for ‘Saturday Night Fever.’ The movie starts at 8 p.m. On Sunday you can watch the musical, ‘Singin’ In the Rain’ at 3 p.m. Tickets start at $7.

Head to The Pinnacle at Turkey Creek for a free outdoor concert on Friday. The Sounds of Summer concert series begins at 6:30 p.m. Pets are encouraged to attend.

Friday is Market Night at downtown Clinton. Local artisans and food trucks will line Market Street, and the shops will be open late.

The Second Bell Music Festival is back for another year of live music at Suttree Landing Park in South Knoxville. The day-long concert series begins at 11 a.m. This year they’re offering even more shade options because Summer Saturdays in Knoxville are HOT.

Knoxville's East Tennessee History Fair literally has something for everyone

Blast back to the past at the East Tennessee History Fair on Saturday. The packed day of events includes a historical dog costume contest, free museum admission, a birthday party for Davy Crockett and more.

As part of the East Tennessee History Fair, the Tennessee Theatre is hosting an open house on Saturday. At 2 p.m., they’ll be showing a special preview of the new Country Music documentary by Ken Burns.

Do you believe in aliens? There’s a new Knoxville convention that’s all about UFOs and alien sightings. AlienXPO is Saturday and Sunday at the Knoxville Convention Center. General Admission tickets start at $28. Kids 12 and under get in for free.

Stanley’s Greenhouse in South Knoxville is hosting its fourth annual Butterfly Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be butterfly crafts, storytime, and a butterfly release at noon. The event is free.

The East Tennessee Dachshund Races are back! The day-long event on Saturday includes races, best licker contests, best nose contests, talent contests, and other four-legged competitions to raise money for the Tennessee Dachshund Rescue nonprofit. The event is located at Houndry Doggy Daycare in Oak Ridge.

The Reach Out Color Run 5K is Saturday at 9 a.m. in Gatlinburg. The event raises money for an orphanage in Sulawesi. Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for kids.

Movies Under the Stars returns to Ijams Nature Center June 14

Ijams Nature Center is bringing its educational program to Farragut. On Saturday at 10 a.m., visitors at Anchor Park can participate in an insect safari. Tickets are $5 for individuals or $10 for families.

The Great Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival is Saturday afternoon in Townsend. Aside from admiring the larger-than-life balloons, there will also be a water balloon fight, face painting, a rock wall, and food and drink vendors.

Kids will have the opportunity to see, touch, and climb on big trucks and equipment at the ‘Fun with the Fleet’ event at Mayor Bob Leonard Park in Farragut. The event begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday and runs until 11 a.m.

Help clean up the Great Smoky Mountains National Park during this weekend’s ‘Smokies Service Day.’ On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteers are needed to help clean up the Cosby Horse Trail.

The Lawn Chair Concert Series in Farragut continues on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The free event features several bands that will perform at Founders Park.

For the second year in a row, ORNL Federal Credit Union is hosting a free summer music series.  On Saturday at 6 p.m., you can listen to live music at the pavilion at A.K. Bissell Park in Oak Ridge.

The Market Square Farmers’ Market is open for the season. Shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and crafts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ijams Nature Center hosts its weekly Creature Feature on Saturday at 10 a.m. It’s always a surprise to see what animal ambassador shows up.

Every Saturday, you can enjoy live music from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Stardust Marina in Anderson County. The weekly music series is called Sundown Saturdays and lasts from May 25 to Sept. 7.

Sit back and listen to live bluegrass music at the Lenoir Museum at Norris Dam State Park every Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Bluegrass Jam runs April 7 through Oct. 27.

Tickets are still available to Sunday’s Meet The Makers dinner hosted by Knox Heritage. Guests will experience a block party in the Warehouse District with local brews, BBQ, and homemade ice cream and live music. Tickets are $75 per person. The event begins on Sunday at 5 p.m.

Impress your friends by mixing up the perfect cocktail. Maple Hall Bowling Alley is hosting a cocktail class on Sunday at 4 p.m. Guests will learn how to make two craft cocktails. Admission is $50.

You’re never too young to learn survival skills. Frozen Head State Park is hosting a Jr. Survivalist Day on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids ages seven to 13 will learn skills like making a shelter, starting a fire, and tying knots.

What’s better than a regular pool party? A puppy pool party! The City of Oak Ridge community pool’s last day of the season is Saturday, and on Sunday the pool is open to dogs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. It costs $3 to bring your pooch to the pool.
