KCSO, THP helps with WWII veteran funeral procession

Colonel Wallace Taylor was honored with a 1,000-mile funeral procession back to Kentucky, where he will be buried with other family members.

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — On Sunday, the Knox County Sheriff's Office and Tennessee Highway Patrol helped a World War II and Korean War veteran reach his final resting place.

Colonel Wallace Taylor died recently at the age of 96 in Florida.

He was honored with a 1,000-mile funeral procession back to Kentucky, where he will be buried with other family members.

The THP and KCSO helped escort the procession to the Kentucky state line on Sunday morning.

A military funeral is planned in Louisville.
