KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Sophomore guard Zaay Green announced on Wednesday she will be leaving the Tennessee Lady Vol basketball program. She is the second player and guard to leave the program this week, joining fellow classmate Jazmine Massengill.

"I would like to thank the fans and everyone else who has supported me through this journey the past two years," Green said in an Instagram post. "I'm very grateful for the memories, but due to my actions and decisions and the coaches, it has been best for me to part my ways from the University of Tennessee and figure out what is best for Zaay Green."

Green played just two games this past season before tearing her ACL in a practice on Nov. 9. In those two games, Green averaged 13 points. In her first year, Green was named to the 2019 SEC All-Freshman Team. She started in 24 games her freshman season, averaging 9.6 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game.
