Knox County Sheriff's Office investigating West Knox woman's murder

A KCSO spokesperson said a man is in custody and the cause of death is under investigation by the Major Crimes Unit.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE (Jan. 27, 2020): A man is in custody and charged with first degree murder after deputies found a woman dead in a West Knox County home on Sunday.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office said 33-year-old Roger England was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Kelsey Polk.

KCSO said England's bond has been set at $1 million.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office is investigating a woman's death on Sunday morning in West Knox County.

In a press release, a KCSO spokesperson said deputies were sent to a home Sunday at about 11:30 a.m. It was located on Missoula Way. They discovered the woman's body, whose name is withheld until the next of kin is notified.

Responders transported the woman's body via AMR to the Knox County Medical Examiner's Office, where an autopsy will be performed.

The spokesperson said the cause of the woman's death is under investigation. The Knox County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit will lead the investigation.
