Union County Sheriff's Office arrests father and son accused in attempted armed deli robbery

The sheriff's office said a man entered Tolliver's Market and Deli, displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

Update 1/27/20:

UNION COUNTY, Tenn. — The Union County Sheriff's Office arrested a father and son accused of trying to rob Tolliver's Market and Deli at gunpoint over the weekend.

Early Monday morning, officers said they received tips on the possible identity of the man who walked in and demanded money Sunday afternoon. Detectives with the sheriff's office responded to a home on Stanley Road in North Knox County and made contact with the suspect and two other individuals, the sheriff's office said. 

"During the investigation, detectives interviewed and recovered evidence of the attempted armed robbery and arrested both suspects without incident," a sheriff's office release said. 

William Gary Morgan and Benjamin Gary Morgan are charged with attempted aggravated robbery and currently housed at the Union County Jail under a $25,000 bond each, officials said.

The Union County Sheriff's Office is seeking a man who robbed a deli at gunpoint. 

In a press release, the sheriff said the robbery happened at about 4:05 p.m. Sunday. He said the man displayed a chrome and black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from an employee behind the counter. 

The sheriff also described a truck the man used. He said the man exited the passenger side of a "Blue/Green extended cab GMC 4x4 Truck (possibly 1993-1997 model) with no visible license plate, missing tailgate, a non-working modified (round light added) tail light on the rear drivers side, and what appears to be a lower back broken spotlight on the rear bumper."

The sheriff said no one should approach the man or the truck's driver, as they're considered armed and dangerous.
