Lady Vol Softball advances to Super Regional

It took two games, but Tennessee takes care of North Carolina in Knoxville.

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee — After struggling to get hits in its first game of the day against North Carolina, Tennessee used great defense and clutch hitting to move onto the Super Regional, 2-0 the final.

With two runners on and two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, sophomore Ashley Morgan found the gap in center field, bringing home Jenna Holcomb and Chelsea Seggern.

Caylan Arnold got the start in Game 2 and delivered one of her best performances of the season: 6.0 innings pitches, 4 hits, 6 Ks and 0 earned runs.

The defensive play of freshman Kaitlin Parsons can't be ignored either. She made three jaw-dropping plays from second base.

Tennessee will play SEC rival Florida in Gainesville in the Super Regional next weekend. The Lady Vols won two of three games against the Gators in Gainesville earlier this season.
