Mobile home fire in East Knox County causes major damage to structure

The call came in at 6:26 a.m.

Knox County — Crews from Rural Metro Fire responded to a mobile home fire at 8205 Kodak Road at 6:27 a.m. Thursday, Captain Jeff Bagwell with Rural Metro Fire said in a news release.

No one was home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Crews were on the scene in five minutes and had the fire out in about 10 minutes after that, Bagwell said.

Five fire vehicles responded to the scene with about 20 total firefighters, the release said.

The fire started in the center of the home and caused major damage to the structure, Bagwell said. Crews were able to get the fire stopped where it was, but smoke and heat damage affected the rest of the structure, according to the release.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
