Knoxville — UPDATE Saturday at 6:42 p.m.: A motorcycle driver was killed in a crash that also injured a mother and killed her daughter on E. Emory Road Saturday night, according to Knoxville Police.

Police said Ava Easterday, 8, died after the SUV her mother was driving collided with a motorcycle Saturday around 8 p.m. The motorcycle driver, identified as Philip Jardine, 23, also died.

The driver and mother, Alice Easterday, and her other daughter, Chelsea, were taken to UT Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to KPD.

The crash happened in Knoxville right on the city-county line near Powell. The cause has not been determined.

On Monday, a memorial was growing at the crash scene.

Loved ones told 10News Ava went to Wallace Weekday Ministries Preschool. They released a statement earlier Sunday:

"The staff and families of Wallace Weekday Ministries are devastated and heartbroken over the loss of Ava. Our love and prayers go out for her family and we are here to walk with them through this difficult time."

In June 2016, Alice Easterday's husband and Ava's father, Jeremy, was killed in a head-on crash in North Knox County.

Powell Youth Cheerleaders are selling hair bows to raise money for the mother of Ava in her honor. People wishing to purchase a bow should head to the Powell Youth Football Cheerleading Facebook page.

Another fundraiser "All in for Ava" is being held at Pizza Hoss in Powell. The organizers said they will be offering shirts, bracelets and a silent auction. All food sales will be donated to the Easterday family.

This is a developing story. 10News will update it as more information becomes available.
