Knoxville — Downtown Knoxville will be a colorful rainbow of costumes, decorative floats, and flags for the annual Knox Pride Fest.

The pride parade will step off at 11 a.m., and throughout the afternoon and evening, there will be vendors, music, and speakers at the Mary Costa Lawn next to the Knoxville Coliseum in Downtown Knoxville from noon to 8 p.m.

The parade will march down Jackson Avenue before turning left on Gay Street and again on Church street, continuing towards the Coliseum.

The organizers say the day will be about love and acceptance and gives the community a chance to gather and celebrate being their true selves.

A letter "to all attendees" on the KnoxPride website addresses safety concerns and assures festival-goers that police will be present, as in past years, to ensure safety.
