America's Got Talent to hold auditions in Knoxville in November

The auditions will be on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at the Knoxville Convention Center.

The auditions will be on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at the Knoxville Convention Center.

Doors open at 7 a.m. and anyone in line before 7 p.m. gets to audition.

This is the first time the show has ever held auditions in Knoxville. There's no age limit and any talent is welcome.

This season's auditions continue Tuesday night. Variety acts of all ages are competing for a chance to try to win the million dollar prize.

Golden Buzzer is back and allows four lucky acts the chance to go directly to the live shows at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to compete for America's vote.

One man has received Simon's Golden Buzzer and is set to begin the live performance in a few weeks.

Michael Ketterer, is from Chattanooga and lived in Knoxville for a number of years. He and his wife have six children. Five of them are adopted from foster care. 10News talked with him recently through FaceTime about his family and what he hopes this experience will teach his children.

"Them being there with me, that's the reason that I went out on that stage was because I wanted them to see that at this point," he said. "I'm 40 years old... if their dad can get on that stage on 'America's Got Talent', at 40 years old and sing to a panel of judges that he is really nervous and then have success then even if I didn't, at least I was trying. It meant everything to have them right there with me by my side."

He's moving on to the live competition on America's Got Talent.
