Knoxville — You'll see scores of people every day pumping iron at the gym.
But on Friday mornings a group of area athletes demonstrate that exercise is for everyone.
Rocky Top Crossfit recently created a class for adults living with disabilities.
It's a partnership with a local nonprofit, Sunshine Industries. The workouts are modified to accommodate different skill and strength levels.
"We do community-based programs," said Anna Palmer with Sunshine Industries. "We are helping them explore their community, and this is a great way for them to explore the community and start to work out and develop new skills."
The new workout class is only a few weeks in, and volunteers and coaches already see a growth in confidence and excitement in the athletes.
