Sevierville, Tenn. — A Pigeon Forge man was hospitalized with serious injuries after authorities said he tried to climb through the window of a truck and fell.

According to the Sevierville Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call just after 7 a.m. Wednesday morning about an injured pedestrian on the shoulder of West Main Street.

Witnesses told officers that the man, identified as Chad Bonilla, 39, tried to climb into the open window of a truck that was stopped at a red light on West Main at Old Knoxville Highway. The driver of the truck struggled with Bonilla, but wasn't able to force him out of the truck, so he drove down the road with Bonilla still trying to get into the truck.

A half mile later, Bonilla fell from the truck. The driver stopped nearby and waited for police to arrive.

Bonilla was taken to the hospital for treatment, and charges are pending against him. The driver was not hurt.
