MORE: ELECTION RESULTS
The early voting numbers represent just over 10 percent of the roughly 240,000 registered active voters in Knox County, according to Election Administrator Cliff Rodgers.
"We've almost reached already what we had number of people vote four years ago," Rodgers said. "So what that tells everybody going forward into Tuesday, we expect to have that many people vote again, another 25,000-30,000 on Tuesday."
Of those who voted early, roughly 26,000 voted onsite and nearly 1,300 submitted an absentee ballot.
According to the early voting numbers, more than 23,000 submitted their ballot in the Republican primary, and 4,088 submitted a ballot in the Democratic primary.
Voting isn't over yet, though. You can also vote on the day of the May 1 primary election starting at 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls.
