Man charged in death of Knoxville woman missing since May 2017

Michael Anthony Keck, 52, was charged with first degree murder Thursday, according to Knoxville Police.

A man has been charged in the death of a woman who was reported missing in May 2017.

Michael Anthony Keck, 52, was charged with first degree murder Thursday, according to Knoxville Police.

Keck is being held on a $500,000 bond.

Nakisha Scott, who lived on Elk Hill Way, was last seen walking toward her husband's residence on Brookside Avenue on May 28. The couple had been married for 10 months, though investigators said they had been separated for six of those months.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, she was reported missing by family members and authorities launched on investigation on May 30.

The remains of the missing 36-year-old woman were found in the Speedwell community in December 2017.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office was notified of the discovery of human remains in the Speedwell Community. TBI and Campbell County Sheriff's Office personnel recovered the remains and transported them to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center, according to KPD.

On Dec. 6, it was determined that the remains were Scott's.
