Regal holds large moving sale before relocating to S. Knoxville waterfront

People across East Tennessee came out to the Regal location in Halls to purchase things from movie memorabilia to office furniture on Saturday.

People across East Tennessee came out to the Regal location in Halls to purchase things from movie theater seats to old movie memorabilia on Saturday.

On Friday, the company said everything must go.

Sure enough, hundreds came out to purchase most of what was offered at the moving sale. All proceeds for the items purchased will go to Variety - The Children's Charity of Eastern Tennessee.

"The more money that we are able to raise, the more children we're able to help," Carol Fusco, the executive director at Variety - The Children's Charity's of Eastern Tennessee, said. "We've purchased over 200 pieces of mobility equipment last year alone."

Variety supports children with special needs by donation mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers and mobility bikes.

Regal Entertainment Group expects to be complete with construction along the new waterfront location in South Knoxville by the end of this year.
