A Friendsville man wanted in Colorado has been arrested in Blount County on felony warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon resulting in death as well as arson.
The Blount County Sheriff's Office arrested Derric Elijah Cooper, 35, of County Farm Road in Friendsville last Friday.
Cooper is awaiting extradition to El Paso County, Colorado. He also has a failure to appear in Blount County on a domestic violence charge. Deputies took Cooper into custody after learning he was staying with a relative in Friendsville.
According ot the Blount County Sheriff's Office, he was taken into custody without incident.
