Morristown police find body of missing man

Morristown police are asking for help finding a man who disappeared Thursday after leaving his home to visit a friend.
Morristown police are searching for Robby Shultz after he disappeared on Jan. 11.

UPDATE, Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018: Morristown Police have located the body of a man who was last seen on Jan. 11.

Officers found the body of Robby Shultz shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday when they expanded their search and returned to a heavily wooded area near where Shultz's vehicle was found last week, police said.

There were no obvious signs of trauma to his body, officials said. A forensics examination will help determine the cause of death.

ORIGINAL STORY, Jan. 17, 2018: Morristown investigators are looking for Robert "Robby" Shultz.

Police said Shultz was last seen leaving his home on Jan. 11 with a few belongings. He told his mother he was visiting an unknown friend.

On Monday, his car was found abandoned a short distance from his home with the keys inside.

Detectives believe he may have been in Carter County recently.

Shultz is not wanted for a crime, and his family wants to confirm that he is safe.
