I-40W in Cumberland Co. reopens after head-on crash

The Tennessee Highway Patrol in Cookeville tweeted that the accident involved a car hitting a tractor-trailer head on.

Update 4 p.m.: I-40 west has reopened. 10News is working to get more information about the crash.

Update 3:30 p.m.: THP says officers are moving traffic around the accident on the shoulder, so one lane of traffic is now moving in the area.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 40 are closed just past the Crossville exit in Cumberland County after a crash involving multiple vehicles.

According to TDOT, the crash was reported at 12:36 p.m. CST at mile marker 316. All lanes are closed heading west, and it isn't estimated to be back open until 7:30 p.m. CST. The interstate is open heading east and traffic is not being impacted.
